How to Resize an Image
  • Resizing an image in Adobe Photoshop:
    1. Choose Image > Image Size
    2. Under "Pixel Dimensions" the size can be edited in two ways:
    3. Editing the size with pixels:  This usually requires you to know the width or height of your target image size.  So if you want your image to be 500px wide, simply type in 500px and the height will re-size proportionately to the width.
    4. Editing the size with percentage: Under the pixels dropdown, choose percent.  The value for the width and height will automatically be set to 100%.  If you would like the image to be bigger, change the 100% to a higher number.  If you would like it smaller, change the percentage to be lower.  As with the pixel value, if you change either the width or the height, the unchanged value will resize to remain in proportion with the changed one.
    5. Click "Ok"
If you do not have access to Adobe Photoshop, we recommend using Gimp.  Gimp is an image editing software that can be downloaded for free at: http://www.gimp.org/

To Resize an image using GIMP
