A text component is one of the most versatile and commonly used components within Vipa Suite. It can be used to display basic paragraphs of text, but it can also contain images, tables, and even animated flash elements. Hover over parts of the text component shown below to learn about their function.
Name Name: where you enter what you want your text component to be called. This name will not be shown on your website, but will be used to identify the component within Vipa Suite
Current State Current State: displays the status of your text component. Options are draft, pending, and published. This will not update until you save your text bean.
Save As Save As: allows you to change the status of your text component. Options are draft, pending, and published.
CSS ID CSS ID: enter an ID for your text component, for CSS purposes. It is not necessary to add a “#” before your ID.
CSS Class CSS Class: enter a class for your text component for CSS purposes. It is not necessary to add a “.” before your class.
Help Help: click to access Vipa Suite online help resources.
Save Save: click to save changes to your text component.
Save and Exit Save and Exit: click to save your changes and close out of the text component editor.
Cancel Cancel: click to close out of the text component editor and discard your changes.
Templates Templates: click to access preconfigured templates for the text component.
Format Format: allows you to choose an HTML format for the selected text. Options include normal (paragraph), normal (div), Heading 1-6, pre, and address.
Bold Bold: make the selected text bold.
Italic Italic: italicize the selected text.
Underline Underline: underline the selected text.
Ordered List Ordered List: organize the selected text into a numbered list.
Unordered List Unordered List: organize the selected text into a bulleted list.
Decrease Indent Decrease Indent: increase the amount of indented space on selected text, including paragraph text and lists. Moves in 40px increments.
Increase Indent Increase Indent: increase the amount of indented space on selected text, including paragraph text and lists. Moves in 40px increments.
Blockquote Blockquote: turns selected text into a blockquote, adding whitespace and margin before and after the text.
Div Div: encloses the selected text into a div container.
Left-Align Left-Align:makes the selected text left-aligned.
Center-Align Center-Align:centers the selected text.
Right-Align Left-Align:makes the selected text right-aligned.
Link Link: turns the selected text into a link, or allows you to edit an existing link.
Unlink Unlink:unlinks a selected link.
Image Link: allows you to insert an image into the text.
Flash Flash: allows you to add a flash element into the text.
Table Table: inserts a new table element into the text.
Special Characters Special Characters: opens a popup window where you can choose from a variety of special characters to insert into the text, like é, ¼, ™, and →
Cut Cut: cuts the selected text.
Copy Copy: copies the selected text.
Paste Paste: pastes copied text.
Paste as Plain Text Paste as Plain Text: allows you to paste text selected from a program like Microsoft Word into your text component, while first stripping out any formatting.
Paste from Word Paste from Word: allows you to paste text selected from a program like Microsoft Word into your text component, while maintaining the existing formatting.
View Source View Source: allows you to view and edit the HTML code of your text component.
Collapse Toolbar Collapse Toolbar: click to hide the rich text editor buttons.
Resize Resize: drag to adjust the size of your rich text editor.
Content History Content History: allows you to view and reload previous revisions to your text component.
